The Outlook and Plans

The Technology and its tools keep on changing as the society evolves and requirements get updated along with fresh set of expectations. This forces people to develop a completely new kind of expectations from those they interact with.

PlansRapid growth of information technology has been one such catalyst and BSEB not only realizes the inherent potential of this tool but has already chalked out a plan of action that will help us achieve a new level of quality service to our consumers.

Our vision can be summarized through the under mentioned points ...

 

  • Deployment of IT within the organization

    • This is basically the point where everything related to IT begins. We have already inducted modern tools of technology across the width and breadth of our organization and a large number of people are being trained to use them effectively.

    • Using local area network technology, the systems have already been interconnected to facilitate faster movement of vital information and downward propagation of management dicisions.

  • IT Promotion Plan

    • We are creating more and more Internet access points across the client nodes installed within the organization. This will help in giving broader exposure of the technology to the people and make them establish good rapport with the computers.

    • BSEB has also opted for training of its employees on the advance courses related to computers and software application so as to inculcate much needed skill set among them.

  • Less Paper Office

    • Paper-less office is a myth and what we can really achieve with the help of IT within the board machinery is less paper office. IT tools will permit vastly improved monitoring and access methods to the river of information that flows through the different level offices each day.

  • Information Facilitation Counters

    • An exercise is underway to open up IT based Information Facilitation Counter at each of the divisions. This is basically an exercise to improve the level of faith between the Board and the Public. The public should be allowed access to information to safeguard their interests and through such a counter, a new kind of public interface will be established as a one-stop solution.

  • Establishing Web based Presence

    • This we have already done and are quite glad that you and our other valued consumers have found it useful in more than one way !

    • By establishing web based presence, a completely new avenue of unlimited possibility has opened up before us. We can now serve so many things for the public as well as our valued consumers.

  • Web based Database Publishing

    • The BSEB has decided to compile and convert the statewide resource availability database into a digital format for publishing on the Web. This is to allow much needed instant access to vital information from all corners of the globe. These databases will be supplemented with the socio-economic databases so that global investors can quickly study/calculate the needs of the infrastructure for starting an industry in Bihar.

    • The web based database of consumer billing details has already begun to function and it is being expanded to include each and every consumer at the State Capital. In the coming phases, the exercise will expand to function at the State Level.

  • Web based Information Publishing

    • This web site of BSEB has come up as a component of our IT Vision ! It is to serve as a channel through which information useful to the public can be quickly published and even maintained to reflect most up-to-date status.

    • You would have already noticed that different application forms have begun to appear on this site in downloadable format. These are all just a part of the programme that will allow you to eventually get 100% of the information which otherwise would have necessitated a walk down to the nearest divisional office.

 

Our IT Vision is not limited to the boundaries of the points illustrated above. BSEB is also encouraging usage of IT tools right down to the home level of its workforce and is providing them e-mail accounts so that different divisions and/or sub-divisions can interact to provide better solutions and help solve problems related to service to the public quickly and efficiently.
